Abstract

Ambient air pollution from a nitric acid-ammonium nitrate fertilizer works is measured, using continuous gas analyzers. The works in a rural area are a substantial source of nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide. But measurements from one ammonium nitrate fertilizer works cannot be readily applied to another when there are differences in the process, the level of control technology, the location, and the background levels of pollutants from other sources.
