Abstract
Cows and buffaloes (76) during pregnancy, within 1 week and around 2 months postpartum were screened for anorexia and studied for haemogram, protein patterns, minerals and electrolytes status. The red cell count, haemoglobin content and PCV were lower and ESR and total leucocyte counts were higher in the pregnant animals. The iron content of the pregnant, anorexic and sub-clinical ketotic animals was low and of normal lactating animals high during 1 week and 2 months postpartum.
