Abstract
Coronene organic thin films were prepared using vacuum thermal evaporation deposition. X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), photoluminescence spectroscopy and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy were used to investigate the structural, photoluminescence (PL) and optical properties of coronene thin films. FESEM images revealed the formation of coronene nano rod shape with average length in the range similar to 130 nm and width in the range similar to 80 nm for nanorod. A strong green emission peak centered at 541 nm was observed. Parameters related to the optical characteristics of coronene thin films such as refractive index (n), molar extinction coefficient (k), specific polarizability (P) dispersion energy (E-d), single oscillator energy (E-o) and third-order nonlinear susceptibility (chi((3))) were estimated.
