Abstract
The present research is aimed at examining the optical properties as well as structure of 3-MPA stabilized Pb1-xCdxS ternary nanostructures compounds. The study also investigates X-ray diffraction in these particles. The study encapsulates an experiment, under different conditions. Pb1-xCdxS nanoparticles with x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.3, and 0.48 and capped by 3-mercaptopropionic acid (3-MPA). Different percentages of Cd doping effect on the composition and size of the nanoparticles. Raman modes of optical and acoustic phonon modes were determined. The optical transmission of the nanoparticles also showed an absorption band in NIR, and transmission was nearly equal zero in the UV-region. TGA proved that PbS nanoparticles has a melting point lower than bulk PbS.
