In the interaction of Zn(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O and adamantane-1,3,5,7-tetracarboxylic acid (H(4)atc) in N,N'-dimethyl formamide (DMF) a three-dimensional coordination polymer with the composition [Zn-2(dmf)(H2O)(atc)]center dot 0.75DMF center dot 0.5H(2)O (1) is produced. Its structure is determined by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study.
