Abstract
Herein we report the electrical and magnetic properties of Dy-Co bi-substituted strontium hexagonal nanoferrites Sr1-xDyxFe12-yCoyO19 (Dy=0.00-0.15, Co=0.00-0.60) synthesized by sol-gel combustion method. The XRD analysis revealed formation of the magnetoplumbite phase of nanoferrites with average crystallite size ranging 35-50nm. Electrical resistivity of synthesized nanoferrites lies in the range of 19x10(9) to 37x10(9) cm. Beneficial from Dy-Co co-dopants, the synthesized nanoferrites exhibited very low dielectric losses (up to 0.28at 1MHz) together with high coercivity and magnetization (188.4 KA/m and 68 KA/m, respectively). Our study provides a general idea to prepare highly resistive nanoferrite magnets; which offer possibilities for designing components of magnetic recording media and conductors for various technological applications.
