Abstract
Nd3+-doped langbeinite salts were prepared by the solid solution method. X-ray diffraction patterns and Raman spectroscopy confirmed that all obtained phases are highly pure of a cubic system with the space group P213. EDS and SEM has confirmed the elemental composition of the langbeinite salts. Reflectance diffuse spectrum of these compounds was investigated in the wavelength range of 300–3000 nm and the optical properties have been discussed. The emission luminescence comes from the 4F5/2➔4I9/2, 4F3/2➔4I9/2,4F3/2➔4I11/2 transitions of Nd3+ ions. Moreover, the temperature dependence lifetime of this emitting level can be explained in terms of the thermalization effect.
