Abstract

2-Aminothiophenol

2-dialkylaminomethylpropenenitriles

Benzothiazepines

Reaction of 2-aminothiophenol with 2-dialkylaminomethylpropenenitriles leads to the corresponding benzothiazepines with a good yield. Mechanism is discussed and determined by isolating some intermediates.
