The first syntheses of (alpha,alpha'-diperfluoroalkylated)diamines are reported together with a range of substituted alpha-perfluoroalkylated amines all prepared in good yields from benzotriazole derivatives and perfluoroalkyl Grignard reagents in the presence of BF3 . Et2O. Primary amines are conveniently obtained from Pd-catalyzed hydrogenations. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
