Abstract
The complexes of type [Cr(L)(2)(H2O)Cl]0.5H(2)O, [Mn(L)(2)(H2O)(2)]1.5H(2)O, [Fe(L)(2)(H2O)Cl]2H(2)O, [Co(L)(2)(H2O)(2)]2H(2)O, [Ni(L)(2)(H2O)(2)]2H(2)O, [Cu(L)(2-)(H2O)(2)]2H(2)O, and [Cd-(L)(2)(H2O)(2)]1.5H(2)O, where L = salicylidene-4-chlorophenyl-2-aminothiazole, have been synthesized and characterized by different physical techniques. Protonation constants of Schiff base and stability constants of their binary metal complexes have been determined potentiometrically in 50% DMSO-water media at 25 degrees C and ionic strength 0.10 M sodium perchlorate.
