Abstract
7-Amino-3-phenyl-[1,2,4]triazolo [4,3-a] pyrimidin-5(1H)-one (5) was utilized as key intermediate for the synthesis of some new, quinolines 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 18, 19, 20, acrylonitrile 25 and 28, coumarin 26, and pyrazoles 31, 32, 33, 34 incorporating triazolopyrimidines. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR, and mass spectral data. Representative compounds of the synthesized products were tested and evaluated as antimicrobial. Compounds 25, 28, 31, 32, 33, and 34 are the most promising.
