Abstract
An efficient synthesis of some novel bis-heterocycles containing thieno[2,3-b] thiophene is described via reaction of bis-2-bromoacetylthieno[2,3-b] thiophene derivative with various heterocyclic amines and heterocyclic thioles. The synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of their elemental analysis and spectral data. The cytotoxic activity of the new products against breast carcinoma (MCF-7) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cell lines were determined, and the results revealed promising activity.
