Abstract
A series of 4-acetyl-2-coumarinyl-5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (Vla-j) were synthesized by reacting coumarin-3-carbonylhydrazones with excess of acetic anhydride. The identity of the compounds was confirmed on the basis of their spectral data. Most of the compounds showed moderate antibacterial activity.
