Abstract
A series of coordination polymers of the general formula [M(CAR)(ABZ)(H2O)]center dot xH(2)O (M = Cu-II, Cd-II and Pb-II; CAR = BDC (1,4-benzenedicaroxylate) or FDC (1,1'-ferrocenedicarboxylate); ABZ = 2-aminobenzothiazole and x = 0 or 2) has been prepared and characterized. The structure of the complexes has been assigned based on elemental analysis, IR and electronic spectral, thermal analysis, scanning electron microscope and cyclic voltammetric studies. Thermogravimetry (TG), differential thermogravimetry (DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) have been used to study the thermal decomposition of the complexes. The kinetic parameters have been calculated making use of the Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations. The antimicrobial activity of the compounds was also tested.
