Reaction of 4-substituted quinoline hydrazide with some aldohexoses and aldopentoses gave a series of new N-beta-glycosides. The following cyclization of N-beta-glycosides with acetic anhydride led to O-acetyl-[5-(2-phenylquinolin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]-D-glycosides. Structure of the newly synthesized products was elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods.
