Abstract
The reactions of
bis-(ethylenediamine)MX
2,M(en)
2X
2,
bis-(1,3-propylenediamine)MX
2,M(1,3-DAP)
2X
2, and
bis-(2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propylenediamine)MX
2, M(2,2-DM-1,3-DAP)
2X
2 complexes, [M = Cu
II or Ni
II and X = Cl
− or ClO
4
−], after adjusting the pH values to 5, with 1,1-diacetyl-2,2′-biimidazole (Ac
2BiIm) afforded octaazamacrocyclic Cu
II complexes (
1–6) and Ni
II complexes (
7–12). The solid complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivities, IR, UV-vis, EPR, NMR and atomic absorption spectra, back titration, TGA and DTA.
