Abstract

Chemistry Chemistry, Organic Physical Sciences Science & Technology
Two series of pyrimido [4,5-b] quinoline derivatives, substituted in 2-and/or 4-positions either with thioxo or oxo group have been prepared using quinoline-2(1H)-one-3-carboxylic acid 1 or 2-amino-3-cyanoquinoline 4 as intermediates. The reactions involved fusion with thiourea or urea and in some cases reaction with acetic anhydride. The prepared compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activities.
