A series of linear tetrapeptides and macrocyclic pentapeptides has been synthesized starting with N,N -bis(1-carboxy-2-substituted)-3,5-diaminocarbonyl)pyridine and N,N -bis(1-hydrazonyl-2-substituted)-3,5-diaminocarbonyl)pyridine. Structures of newly synthesized compounds were elucidated by IR, 1 H and 13 C NMR, and MS spectral data and elemental analysis.
