Abstract
The reactivity of 5alpha-cholestan-3-one (1) towards the formation of thiazolyl derivatives of potential antiinflammatory activity was studied. Also starting with the aminothieno[2',3': 2,3]cholestane derivative 8 several thiazolylthieno[2',3':2,3]cholestane derivatives were synthesized. The structures of the new compounds were established based on the analytical and spectral data and the in vivo antiinflammatory activities of some of these compounds were investigated.
