Abstract
This article analyzes how the admission criteria of the University of Hafr Al-Batin can predict the first-year college students' performance in the engineering path through their first-year college GPA (FYGPA), by utilizing the high school GPA (HSGPA) and the standardized test scores in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (ACT and APT). To compare the models, the Bayesian information criterion (BIC) and the Akaike information criterion (AIC) are used as model selection criteria. The validity of the entrance tests is supported by actual data.
