Heliotropium bacciferum (family Boraginaceae) which grows wildly in Gassim region, central Saudi Arabia, may pose some health hazard to animals grazing in the region as it has been reported to contain toxic alkaloids (Bull et al., 1968; Migahid, 1978). The present experiment was designed to investigate some of the toxic effects of the plant on Najdi sheep.
