Abstract
Five cubic equations of state of van der Waals type have been applied to the correlation of vapor—liquid equilibrium (VLE) in nitrogen—solvent mixtures. Binary interaction parameters for each equation of state at several temperatures have been calculated by regression analysis of binary VLE data. The optimum parameters have been correlated as functions of the reduced temperature and the acentric factor of the solvent. The correlations proposed are recommended for predicting VLE in processes involving nitrogen mixtures.
