Abstract
Some tetracoordinated new organotellurium(II) compounds of the type (RRTeL1)-Te-1 and (RRTeL2)-Te-1 (where R=R-1 = C6H5CH2; R=R-1 = C6H4; R=R-1 = C6H5; R=R-1 = p-MeO C6H4; R= p-Me2NC6H4, R-1= p-MeOC6H4 and R= p-Me2NC6H4, R-1= p-EtOC6H4) have been prepared via the template condensation of 1,2-dibromoethane or 1,3-dibromopropane with aniline. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, PMR, IR, magnetic susceptibility measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectra. An octahedral geometry has been assigned for all these compounds.
