Abstract
The unsteady mixed convection flow of Jeffrey fluid past an inclined stretching sheet with the presence of nanoparticles is studied in this paper. The influence of g-jitter on the fluid flow characteristics is also considered. Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) solution is selected as the base non-Newtonian fluid and copper is chosen as the dispersing nanoparticles. The velocity and temperature of the inclined stretching sheet are assumed to be vary linearly with the distance along the sheet. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations and solved numerically using an implicit finite difference method. The numerical results of surface shear stress in terms of skin friction coefficient and the heat transfer coefficient in terms of local Nusselt number are obtained and graphically presented. The behaviour of the flow affected by the various physical parameters including the amplitude of modulation, frequency of oscillation, Deborah number, ratio of relaxation to retardation times and solid nanoparticles volume fraction are discussed in details. Numerical results show that, the solid nanoparticles volume fraction give rise to the values of the heat transfer coefficient but contradict for the values of the skin friction coefficient with the influence of amplitude of modulation and frequency of oscillation.
