Abstract
Renewable energy systems can be tailored to satisfy local and regional conditions and needs, and can be exploited to create decentralized as well as centralized energy schemes for developing and industrial states. The diversity of such technology renders it suitable for provision of bulk power to existing electricity grids as well as to isolated areas. Energy conservation programs can be augmented and enhanced by integration of renewables into all sectors and most existing energy networks. Intensive development of all alternative energy forms is predicted to supply 17-21% of global energy needs by the year 2020.
