This study of "naturally occurring" employment among high school students examines claims about the nature of the workplace. Drawing on interview, questionnaire, and observational data, it is argued that the President's Science Advisory Committee's (PSAC) expectations on developing responsibility and adult social relations in adolescents are optimistic.
