•Detune the energy levels of coupled nanocrystals system and bring them into resonance provide a signature of the dipolar interaction.•Anti-crossing levels and a Lorentz shape with an unusual dip-shape at the zero detuned states by the field strength corresponding to the point at which the crossing would occur in the absence of the dipolar interaction.•The proposed effect can be extended to generic NCs with different composition and controlled size and interparticle distance.•These findings are a significant contribution to the implementation of quantum devices with NCs.
We investigate the energy level behavior of a nanocrystal system coupled via dipolar interaction under the influence of an external applied magnetic field. The presence of the small dipolar interaction that couples the two corresponding states results in an anti-crossing in the optical spectra. The calculation of the photoluminance intensity signal associated with the anti-crossing levels shows a Lorentz shape with an unusual dip-shape at the zero detuned states by the field strength corresponding to the point at which the crossing would occur in the absence of the dipolar interaction.
