Abstract
The pressure dependence of optical constants and exciton properties in ZnTe with zinc-blende structure has been investigated. The calculations are carried out using a pseudopotential approach. At zero pressure, our results are accordant with those published in the literature. Upon compression, all features being studied in this work show generally a monotonic and non-linear behavior. The information derived from this study could be useful for the use of the material of interest in optoelectronic, microelectronic and photovoltaic applications.
