Abstract

atmosphere biogenic processes carbonyl sulfide dimethyl sulfide East Pacific geochemical cycle geochemistry Hydrochemistry organic compounds organic materials Pacific Ocean Peru saturation sea water South America South American Pacific South Pacific Southeast Pacific supersaturation
Degree of supersaturation correlated with dissolved dimethyl sulfide concentrations, indicating a possible biogenic source of atmospheric carbonyl sulfide. This source could account for a substantial fraction of carboxyl sulfide flux to the atmosphere.--Modified journal abstract.
