Abstract
Simple mathematical recurrence relations for calculation of sections of the Compound Conical Concentrator (CCC) are given. Use of these equations for the description of the properties and for the design of the concentrators is undertaken. Equations for receivers of various geometry are presented. Use of the CCC for the production of a uniformly-distributed concentration of radiation for application to photovoltaic arrays, microwave-reception and other radiation-concentrating systems is illustrated. Simplicity of design and ease of fabrication of the concentrators from common materials is emphasized. Design parameters for the construction of prototype concentrators and receivers using reflective sheet metal are provided.
