Abstract
The evolution of quasi-linear pulses in optical fibers, with strong dispersion management, is studied analytically. The nonlinear terms of the Gabitov–Turitsyn equations are analyzed asymptotically. In this paper, the polarization preserving fibers as well as the birefringent fibers are studied. Finally, the study is extended to the case of multiple channels, namely dispersion flattened fibers. The numerical simulations support the analysis.
