Abstract
Effect of different temperatures (20, 25 and 30 degrees C) on development and fecundity of the predatory mite, Euseius scutalis (Athias-Henriot) when fed on crawlers of Bemisia tabaci (Genn.) was investigated under laboratory conditions. The female life cycle and longevity periods lasted (9.34, 29.57), (7.59, 22.79) and (5.78, 18.54) days at 20, 25 and 30 degrees C, respectively. Lower threshold temperatures (t(0)) of egg, larva, protonymph, deutonymph, total immature stages and life cycle averaged 8.796, 3.559, 3.119, 3.309, 1.833 and 3.864 degrees C, respectively. On the other hand, the predatory female required 151.74 Degree-Day (DD) to reach adulthood.
