Abstract
The thermoluminescence technique was utilized to study khobar sand sample from Saudi Arabia beach as radiation dosimetry. EDX was used to measure the chemical composition of the Khodars. The natural fading, the effect of the increase of the sand temperature on its ability of store the TL-signal and the optimum grain size of the sand were studied. The TL-signal exhibits a linear response through the gamma dose range 10 Gy-10 KGy. In this range of exposure the sample under study can be considered as accidental dosimetry.
