Abstract

Multiple-beam Brewster fringes of superposition are produced when a thick glass plate is introduced into a double-layer interferometer. The bands of equal thickness are observed with different multiplicity numbers. The band spacing is inversely proportional to this number. The bands of equal chromatic order are accessible to observation and they are used to determine the sign of the topographic slope.
