Abstract
Background Chordae tendinae rupture (CTR) & Papillary Muscle rupture (PMR) complicating STEMI are associated with high mortality ensuing from acute mitral regurgitation, pulmonary edema and cardiogenic shock (CS). Of these, 1,388 (73.5 %) had CS, 1,228 (65%) required MCD and 1,130 (59.8%) underwent mitral valve procedure (MVP), Pie charts in Fig -1 showing different devices utilized in patients with and without in CS. 77.5% (1076 out of 1388) required MCD.
