Abstract
Shewhart attribute control charts have been widely used to monitor non-conforming items in the manufacturing process. In this paper, a new variable batch-size attribute control chart is designed. The performance of proposed control chart is evaluated. The control chart coefficient is determined through non-linear optimization and used to determine average run length. Some tables are presented for practical use in the industry. The performance of proposed control chart is investigated on par with Shewhart control chart by means of average run length. An industrial example is also added using real data.
