Purpose of ReviewThe goal of this review is to present a concise summary of the current literature on the use of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) for vascular imaging.Recent FindingsDECT techniques have shown significant promise and useful applications for the detection of subtle pulmonary embolism, intramural hematoma, active bleeding, and differentiation of bleed from contrast staining in the brain, with potentially less radiation and improved accuracy.SummaryVascular imaging with DECT has many new applications through enhanced technology and postprocessing algorithms.
