Abstract
Construction of visible-light active photocatalyst with robust stability and efficient activity towards organic pollutant degradation and the reactive radical's production still motivate the research in the photocatalytic environmental remediation application. Herein, the effective and recyclable rGO supported g-C3N4/CoFe2O4 heterojunction was successfully prepared by the hydrothermal route. The optical property analysis demonstrated the prepared nanoparticles are visible-light active for the degradation process. Moreover, the interfacial heterojunction formation between the nanoparticles inhibits the electron-hole recombination during the photocatalysis process. This synergistic strategy of the nanocomposite helps to utilize the chemical oxidant (H2O2) for bossing the OH center dot radical production and 4-NP degradation. The ternary nanocomposite rGO/g-CN/CFO exhibits superior photocatalytic activity with a higher amount of H2O2 consumption and robust recycle stability. Moreover, the prepared ternary nanocomposite shows the extraordinary degradation activity for a wide range of pH conditions. Hence, we believed that this ternary nanocomposite would be an effective photocatalyst for environmental remediation applications.
